Vaccination of Newborns

A few questions about immunisations of newborns/toddlers.

How many of you have vaccinated your newborns or toddlers?
How many vaccines have you done?
Which vaccines have you done?
Have you skipped any? If yes, why?
Are there compulsory vaccines specific to your country?

You are welcome to include any other info that might be helpful whether you are pro or against vaccines.

My child is supposed to do 11 vaccines before 12 months.
First, there is the BCG vaccine for tuberculosis.
Then there are three sets of DPT+Hib, OPV and Hep B. Thats 9 vaccines.
Then when turning 1 year old there is the MMR vaccine.

I heard there has been a lot of controversy regarding MMR as it has led to autism.

How important are these vaccines and are they all necessary?

living our life through others

Each of us takes on two different lives. The first, our current life that we see as being realistic and a part of our core-being, and the second, a part of us that imagines and dreams for something that seems outside of the possibilities we have in front of us.

It is that 'latter' life that so often becomes the canvas each of us paints in the mind but never jumps into to experience. Modern societies are attracted to icons, products, and films that make it easier to live a vicarious vision of what it would be like to have a life filled with action and adventure around each corner.

Could it be that looking at the lives of others in these paintings of car chases and constant action makes it easier to live a boring, unoriginal and scripted life?

Often so much of our imagination and dreaming turns into indulgence, something we keep in a vault of fantasies rather than possibilities.

I am not proposing that more people ought to turn their fantasies into realities, but I do think there is a chance for each one of us to follow their dream in life, and it's so common to see people miss that chance in our world.

Each of us has a unique dream that can be discovered through self-awareness. I am not talking about dreaming of winning a world competition, becoming a superhero, or being awarded a million dollar prize. There is something unique that Makes You YOU. This unique sense of self ends up either being suppressed through living an unoriginal life or embraced and actualized. It is embracing that uniqueness which makes it possible to find this inner dream.

In Mario 64, a game for Nintendo, the main character walks through a castle filled with paintings hanging on the walls. Mario is able to jump into these paintings to enter new worlds. The human mind is structured in a similar 'castle' of possibilities.

Each one of us 'paints' his or her ideal life in an ongoing process. However it's something different altogether to have the courage to jump into that painting. Rather than just choosing stars to admire, posters to hang on our walls, and other's ideals to live up to… what's wrong with stepping out of the realm of possibilities and wandering into the world of dreams for a moment?

Coming up with reasons like "I can't do…" or "it's too radical to…" all seems to be in the realm of an acceptable and unoriginal life. But it's pushing the envelope of the possible that makes these unique dreams come into reach. Your ideal self does not need to be idealised and kept in the realm of the fantastic and unattainable. Even though it might be impossible to become a superhero, each genuine dream is not as far from reach as it seems.

Take a risk and jump into the painting. In the least, it's much more fun than being unoriginal.

heal pain naturally

Something that touched me: It's a fast paced society we live in...we need to be "on" all of the time, meeting our deadlines with a smile--at least, that's what we're told, no? In my office, we have a huge bottle of Ibuprofen that is used regularly by the staff. What do you do if you have a headache and a meeting? Dull the pain to a manageable level as quickly as possible. For minor aches and pains would stepping away for five minutes to sink into a relaxed, meditative state help? Perhaps for some things...perhaps alternative therapies that utilize natural foods, vitamins and herbs, massage, energy healing, and emotional release therapies are a great supplement to our quick-fix, numb-the- pain western medicine approach for long term healing. Wouldn't it be marvelous to be healthy and disciplined enough to increase your magnesium levels for chronic headaches or schedule an acupuncture appointment for your sinus infection instead of filling your body with something riddled with potential negative side-effects? this made me stop for a moment and question my own use of drugs for their analgesic effects:

Certainly there are very real conditions that warrant pain killers. Believe me -- I was in chronic pain for years and I know and remember clearly JUST how debilitating chronic pain can be. My message is finding agood doctor tht treats the whole u. PLEASE if you are ill or you know someone that is ill seek out other holistic treatments well. Make SURE you have a good doctor that isn't just labeling you and handing you pills. What OTHER pain management techniques can you learn so you can limit these medications? ASK your doctor! What work can you do on your emotional state that might help the physical feel better? Being in pain can cause depression and stress which worsens most conditions. Are you open to learning methods on the mind/body connection that even if they don't heal you 100% will undoubtedly make you feel significantly better? 99% of the information I found was free online. What do you have to lose?

Have You Ever Felt "Incomplete?"

Have You Ever Felt "Incomplete?"

This is perhaps the biggest question that has lead civilization on a search for spiritual fulfilment and deeper meaning. For as long as we've been on this planet there has been something more to strive for. Something greater to motivate us. But where are we all heading?

Being involved in Spiritual Development has nothing to do with joining a religion. In fact it's quite the opposite.

The spiritual dimension of personal development is all to do with Discovering Your True Self and Sharing Your Uniqueness with the world.

For most of us this can be a difficult plight. There are a lot of pressures in our world to stick to social roles and old perspectives.

Have u ever wondered wht r u here for?, wherz ur destinatn?, wht's ur goal here on earth or are u being tested?
